To me, Hip Hop's not about bling. It's not about guns or gangs. It's not about expensive cars and clothes. It's not about major label's and multi-nationals. It's not about me being better than you or you being better than me. It's about not just keeping it real, but keeping it right. It's about rockin' a party. For everyone. Then keeping them moving...
I’ve been listening to Hip-Hop since the mid 1980’s
and this is a mix that I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
I’m a big fan of ‘proper’ Hip-Hop – Old Skool stuff.  Not
just Old Skool meaning solely ‘Back in da day’ joints,
but Old Skool in terms of the Hip-Hop ethos – rockin’ a party
kindastuff, eloquent rhymes above funky loops, concise, fluent raps, poetry from the street - mixed with great samples.
              Put
                basically, Raps over Beats.
               From Grandmaster Flash,
through Tribe, J5, Guru, Common, to N.A.S.A. and Abdominal (the best rapper ever!) and
everything of quality in between.   I've even added a
couple of cheeky original funk tracks that inspired this
                amazing scene.
              ‘Wal’s Block Party Volume One’
So, B-boys and B-girls, put this djcswallace.co.uk’s Mix into your ghetto blaster, turn up the volume,
fold those arms, nod your head, then just GO!
                              ...all Night Long.
